On Grief & Business – Lessons Learned + the Journey Back

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to meet with, Sacha Olenroot Pinto of The FEoNA Company. We talked about many things, and as always, it was great to catch up with her and have a great conversation.

In this interview, we discussed what I’ve been up to the past 18 months, what I’m working on now and what my plans are for the future. We also discussed my natural path to becoming an entrepreneur, anxiety and stress, transparency with clients and why I am now calling myself a content amplifier.

Finding out that my mom had been given the dreaded “6 months to live” terminal cancer diagnosis was a pretty big blow in my life and subsequently, my business, in January of 2017. I wasn’t really sure how to run a business and be there for my mom to help take care of her at the same time. After her passing, I decided that it would be for the best to take a sabbatical so that I could take time to grieve, heal and gain some clarity on how I wanted to move forward. It really helped me to realize what is important in life; I was able to reconnect with some old friends.

During that time, I also realized that health is a business strategy. Making sure that I am taking time for myself to eat healthily, exercise and relax is crucial. I have even begun working health hours into my day. I know that may sound crazy, but it helps me to gain clarity and come back to work refreshed and energized. The more refreshed and energized I am, the more success I have.

So What Am I Working on Now?

Now that I am heading back to work, I really want to focus on my courses and my upcoming membership site The Amplifier’s Club. It’s going to be a community of amplifiers looking for more media and exposure, to amplify their content in a supportive environment. Keep an eye out for it, we will be launching it this fall.

I also have my book, Ready to Amplify: Tribe. Visibility. Impact. which is your 7-day expert pocket guide resource for amplifying your content. This book is part 1 of a 4 part series I am writing to help you create Feel Good content that will amplify your business. This series will bring you back home to the basics and show you systematically how to show up within your business and become more visible. The book will be available for purchase on Amazon on November 1, International Author’s Day.
